Let’s begin with six questions and let's look for a common thread that runs in the answers of these questions.

1. What is SIN? - The apostle John stated that: Sin is the transgression of the Law! (I John 3:4)

2 .What is LOVE? - Paul declared that "Love is the fulfilling of the Law! (Romans 13:10).

3. What is HAPPINESS? - The Proverbs state "He that keeps the law, happy is he" (Proverbs 29:18.)

4 . What is RIGHTEOUSNESS? - David said: "All thy commandments are righteousness" (Psalms 119:172.)

5. What is the WHOLE DUTY OF MAN? - Solomon stated: "Fear God, and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man!" (Eccl. 12:13)

6. What is the PATIENCE OF THE SAINTS? - John in the book of Revelation said: "The patience of the saints are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus". (Revelation 14:12)

God's LAW is important. God's law is like the STRUCTURAL FRAMEWORK of our spiritual TEMPLE. It is part of our foundation. As you can see, it tells us about sin, love, righteousness, etc.

Let’s ask ourselves the question:

DO YOU LOVE GOD'S LAW?

God's law is a like a mirror. Women usually have a mirror in their purse. They will look in the mirror from time to time to check their makeup. We need to use God's law as a mirror to see how we are doing spiritually. Where are we falling short?

April 15th. is the date when your Income Tax is due. How will you do this year? Jesus said to "render to Caesar the things that are Caesars and to God the things that are God's" (Matthew 22:21.) Will you be honest on your income taxes this year?

One morning, years ago, I ask my kids: "What do you think of when you think of God's Law? " One of them said: "There are blessings if we keep them and cursings if we don't."

Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 are the blessings and cursings chapters.

Let's notice: Leviticus 26:1-7 which gives the Blessings: "You shall not make idols for yourselves; neither a carved image nor a sacred pillar shall you rear up for yourselves; nor shall you set up an engraved stone in your land, to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God. {2} You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the LORD. {3} 'If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, {4} then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. {5} Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. {6} I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. {7} You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you."

The Cursings are given in verses 14-19: "But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, {15} and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, {16} I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. {17} I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. {18} 'And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. {19} I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze."

David loved God's law and was a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22.) He wrote many of the psalms in the Bible including Psalms 119. Let's notice Psalm 119:97-104: "Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. {98} You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me. {99} I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. {100} I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts. {101} I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word. {102} I have not departed from Your judgments, For You Yourself have taught me. {103} How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! {104} Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way."

Jeremiah quoted God as saying: "I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people" (Jeremiah 31:33.)

To be righteous we must keep God’s Ten Commandments. David stated in Psalms 119:172: "My tongue shall speak of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness."

The law is good and perfect and can help to convert us and make us wise. David stated in Psalms 19:7 "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple."

The apostle Paul said: "Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good" (Romans 7:12.)

STUDY and MEDITATION are the keys to loving God's law. Let’s notice what is recorded in the book of Joshua: "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success" (Joshua 1:8.)

The apostle John in the book of Revelation leaves us with a positive thought. "Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city" (Revelation 22:14.)

In conclusion: I have one final question: DO YOU LOVE GOD'S LAW?
